3. Definition of Technology.

The word technology comes from Greek 'τεχνολογία' (technología); from 'τέχνη' (téchnē), meaning "art, skill, craft", and '-λογία' (-logía), meaning "study of".  The term can either be applied generally or to specific areas: examples include construction technology, medical technology, and information technologyTechnology is the making, usage, and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems or methods of organization in order to solve a problem or perform a specific function. It can also refer to the collection of such tools, machinery, and procedures. Technology can be defined as the purposeful application of information in the design, production, and utilization of goods and services, and in the organization of human activities.  Technology definition can be divided into five main categories which known as tangible (blueprints, models, operating manuals, prototypes), low (labor-intensive technology that manipulates only coarse or gross matter and weaker forces), high (entirely or almost entirely automated and intelligent technology that manipulates ever finer matter and ever powerful forces), intermediate (semiautomatic partially intelligent technology that manipulates refined matter and medium level forces), and intangible (consultancy, problem-solving, and training methods).
